The left-handed opening batsman missed the opening three ODI's of the Australian tour because he had to attend to his wife's surgery. Needless to say, when the swashbuckler got back onto the field, his bat spoke volumes on the pitch. During the Sri Lanka tour, Dhawan went back home to aid to his ailing mother.  The cricketer has been known for his frank and open love life in the cricket fraternity and the couple have been looked up as an inspiration at all times. "Couple Goals".

Dhawan played an instrumental role in helping India clinch the ODI  series against New Zealand when the opener's  68 runs were enough to chase New Zealand's target in the second-one day in Pune.

Besides taking bowlers for a ride, the batsman is an epitome of handling matters on and off-field, and one thing he can do better than being emotional on social media is tormenting Sri Lanka. The Lankans return to India after the New Zealand tour and play their neighbours in a 3-match Test, ODI and T20I series. Dhawan was named the man of the series in the Test format when they played in Sri Lanka.
