New Delhi: The news about the death of Shahid Afridi’s younger daughter that has been making the rounds on social media since yesterday could be fake. Photos showing what appeared to be a lookalike of Shahid Afridi’s daughter have been circulating on Twitter, WhatsApp, Facebook and other social platform today, claiming that she died due to cancer.

However, the cricketer has not confirmed any such development. He is currently in Saudi Arabia to offer Umrah. Last night, he tweeted his photo from a hotel in Makkah.

News of the illness of his younger daughter surfaced soon after Shahid Afridi’s resignation as captain of Pakistan cricket team following an early exit from the World T20. 

It is important to mention here that Shahid Afridi’s daughter Asmara underwent a dental surgery last month, from which she was reported to be recovering fast. Afridi had tweeted her picture during surgery and asked fans to pray for her.
