Young Indian opener Prithvi Shaw who has been on the sidelines for more than two months now due to an ankle injury sustained before the Australia Tests is all set to return to competitive cricket once he is named in the Mumbai squad for the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament that begins on February 21.

As reported by mid-day.com, the selection committee headed by former India cricketer Ajit Agarkar will be announcing the squad for the premier domestic T20 tournament in a couple of days with Shaw making a comeback having left the injury behind.

Indian team got a major setback as opener Prithvi Shaw who got injured during the warm-up match has been ruled out of the four-match Test series against Australia. Shaw had suffered a left ankle injury while attempting a catch in a practice game against Cricket Australia XI. The 19-year-old from Mumbai had scored 66 in that game in Sydney.

After missing the whole of Australia and New Zealand tours, Shaw is pretty eager to take the field again. His excitement can be gauged from the fact that a fortnight ago, he had tweeted a photo of him holding his bat with the caption: "Aapna time aayega...Injury se fit hoke...Mein aur run banayega...Aapna time aayega...#Gullycrickettointernationalcricket #ps100".

Within a year of winning the ICC U-19 World Cup, Shaw found himself hitting a century in his debut Test against West Indies at Rajkot last October. He followed that up with a 70 and 33 not out in the second Test as India clinched the series 2-0 in Hyderabad.
