Even though India lost the first Test by 72 runs, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah is elated with the fact that he took the scalp of dangerous batsmen AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis and Quinton de Kock in his debut Test match against South Africa at Newlands, Cape Town.

"Nothing worth having was ever achieved without effort. #keepthegamestrong #SAvsIND," Bumrah said on Twitter.

The 24-year-old Ahmedabad-based bowler dismissed De Villiers for 65 runs in the first innings, breaking South Africa's fourth-wicket partnership stand of 114 runs to ignite some hopes for India.

In the second innings, Bumrah went on to claim three big wickets in De Villiers (35), Du Plessis (0) and Quinton de Kock (8).

Trailing the three-match Test series by 1-0, India are scheduled to play South Africa next in Centurion in the second Test, to be held from January 13 to 17.
