India batsman Ajinkya Rahane, who hasn't played a single Test in South Africa despite being the most averaging overseas batsman among the rest, on Tuesday visited anti-apartheid revolutionary Nelson Mandela's home at Orlando West, Soweto, along with his wife Radhika Dhopavkar.

"Visited the Great Nelson Mandela’s home in Soweto. Will carry a piece of history for the rest of my life. What an inspirational journey," Rahane captioned a picture, in which he was seen posing with his wife Radhika. 

India, after losing the series 2-0, will lock horns against the formidable Proteas in the third and final Test, starting January 24 at Johannesburg.

The 29-year-old batsman, who couldn't get a chance to play because of his dipping form, was replaced by Rohit Sharma in India's playing eleven at both the concluded Tests in Cape Town and Centurion.

Rohit failed to deliver up to the fans expectations as he managed to score just 78 runs in four innings of the Test matches and India had to suffer emphatic defeats.

Earlier on Sunday, the Indian cricketers took out time to explore the wildlife with their respective families.  of the most sought-after leisure activities to do in the Proteas, players such as Shikhar Dhawan, Umesh Yadav, Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar had taken a trip to the wild side along with their families.
