Meanwhile, the party announced that Surendra Mohan Agarwal will replace Srivastava in Kanpur.
A release by SP national general secretary, Ram Gopal Yadav from New Delhi said that Agarwal will fight the polls from Kanpur in place of Srivastava.
The Kanpur unit of the party has also been dissolved with immediate effect, he said.
