Sharad Pawar backstabbed Sonia Gandhi in 1999: Union minister K V Thomas

New Delhi: With media reports suggesting NCP leader Sharad Pawar cosying up to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi , union minister K V Thomas has further deepened the mistrust between Pawar and Sonia Gandhi  by

Thomas says Sonia made a silent exit but heated exchanges continued within CWC on this issue. Pawar along with Sangma and Tariq Anwar told Pranab Mukherjee that “this is our last CWC”.

“The trio then sent a letter to Pranab Mukherjee and Madhavrao Scindia in the form of a chargesheet. Sonia did not care to read it. The reply was written by Arjun Singh. He described the trio who broke with Sonia as the Mir Jaffers. The backstabbing was more than what Sonia could tolerate,” adds Thomas.

The soon-to-be released book is an updated and translated version of Thomas's 2006 Malayalam book Sonia Priyankari. The book  is set be released by Union Defence Minister A K Antony on February 20.
