Sachin Pilot: From 'youngest MP' to aspiring CM of Rajasthan

New Delhi: The Congress party has appointed union minister of state for corporate affairs Sachin Pilot the new state president of Rajasthan Congress.This is in line with Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi's strategy to infuse young blood into party organisation.Sachin PIlot have been entrusted with the responsibility of rejuvenating the party in Rajasthan at a time when the party cadre is feeling demoralised after humiliating defeat in just concluded state assembly elections.With his extensive goals to make India a better place, Sachin Pilot has created a distinctive place for himself in public. He not only introduced accessibility to high-speed internet in rural areas but also pioneered new communication services in villages for their upliftment.Son of late Congress leader Rajesh Pilot, Sachin has politics running in his veins. Rajesh Pilot had served as a Union Minister for Communications, Surface Transport and other portfolios. Now serving as the Minister of State (independent charge) for Corporate Affairs, Sachin became the youngest member of Parliament at an early age of 26. Born in Saharanpur, Sachin pursued his masters from IMT Ghaziabad and his second MBA from Wharton Business School. Later he returned to India and worked with Delhi Bureau of British Broadcasting Corporation and then with General Motors for two years before joining mainstream politics. Sachin defeated BJP's Kiran Maheshwari by a record of 76,000 votes. He also is a member of Lok Sabha's Standing Committee.Sachin wanted to follow his father's footsteps and become a member of the armed forces. He became a regular officer in the Territorial Army which made him the first ever regular officer in Territorial Army to become a Union Minister. Sachin found his love interest while he was pursuing his education in USA. His lady love was none other than the daughter of the Abdullah family, Sara Abdullah. Their alliance being an inter-caste one, Sara's family opposed the marriage and did not participate in the ceremonies. The couple has two sons.
