New Delhi, Jan 23:  Rahul Gandhi today took over as Congress vice president at the party headquarters and followed it up with a brief statement before reporters saying he was in favour of positive politics.

The new party vice president said: " We are a dynamic country and this country can do wonders. Positive politics is going to take this country forward. Negative politics is not going to take this country forward."

Rahul Gandhi said, "Of late there has been too much acrimony in the political environment. Such type of discussion is extremely acrimonious. Often we are fighting against each other over small issues."

"There is a lot of positive things happening in this country everyday. Many young people are doing a positive role", he said.

The new vice president refused to take any questions from the assembled reporters.  He was introduced to party general secretaries by Janardhan Dwivedi and treasurer Motilal Vora.
