Indore: The Bharatiy janata party (BJP) on Thursday termed Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi as a leader with "negative mindset" and accused him of "stalling" the development agenda of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by obstructing the passage of GST Bill, a day after the Congress vice-president accused Modi as being "superficial".

Taking a dig at Gandhi, BJP general secretary Arun Singh said an "entertainment film" could be made from the public speeches having been delivered by Gandhi who "could not understand the pains of farmers and poor".

The attack came a day after Gandhi during his visit to Thiruvananthapuram, accused Modi of being "superficial" and that he makes "big media celebrations" around "his ideas".

"We don't expect anything from the Congress as its leader Rahul Gandhi has a negative mentality. Congress is stalling passage of key legislations like GST Bill in Parliament and is creating ruckus only to halt Modi government's development agenda," Singh told reporters.

He said though GST Bill was introduced by the erstwhile Congress-led UPA government, the opposition party is unnecessarily opposing its passage.

Alleging that Gandhi lacked seriousness about issues pertaining to farmers and poor, the BJP leader said, "Rahul Gandhi is media savvy. If recordings of his speeches are to be converted into a CD, it will make an entertainment film".

To a query on the Bhojshala row wherein a Hindu outfit has demanded exclusive access to the shrine on 'Basant Panchmi' day tomorrow, Singh said, "the state government has to take a decision in this regard. But law should be complied with by in Dhar district (where the Bhojshala monument is located). I am of the view that worship of goddess Saraswati be performed with fanfare (tomorrow)".

He said the BJP did not consider construction of Lord Ram's temple in Ayodhya as a political issue.

"The temple will come up in Ayodhya if Lord Ram wished so," Singh added.
