Never talked about bringing black money in 100 days: Government

New Delhi: Government on Thursday insisted in Lok Sabha that it had never claimed that all the black money stashed abroad would be brought back within 100 days even as opposition continued to target it

According to him, a lot of black money flows in the real estate sector besides unaccounted funds coming in the form of foreign investments. Bhagwant Mann (AAP) said the NDA government looks like "UPA 3" and added that they should first clean up their minds before thinking of bringing back black money.

Taking a dig, the member said people thought they would be getting the retrieved money in their bank accounts opened under the Jan Dhan Yojana. Nishikant Dubey (BJP) wondered as to what measures were taken by Congress and previous governments in bringing back the black money.

Emphasising that the present government is committed and trying to bring back unaccounted money stashed abroad, Dubey said everyone should have patience.

The BJP member also alleged that the previous government tried to save stud farm owner Hassan Ali, who is reported to have thousands of crores of money in Swiss banks. He said Congress made the menace of black money "cancerous".
