"More is planned in the coming days. There is so much more to be done for Kolkata and the people of Kolkata," Banerjee said on her official Facebook page, acknowledging the survey.
According to the second edition of the report - "Annual Survey of India's City-System" - which was released Friday, Kolkata was placed first, while Thiruvananthapuram and Bhopal took the second and third spots respectively.
Delhi took the fifth spot.
The cities were evaluated on four parametres - urban planning and design, urban capacities and resources, empowered and legitimate political representation and transparency, accountability and participation.
