Live reporting: Rahul Gandhi lashes out at BJP for divisive politics

Thane (Maharashtra):  Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi today lashed out at the BJP for practising divisive politics. Addressing a well-attended rally, Gandhi said, Congress was not a political party , but a "soch " (thinking)

4:41 pm: Rahul: When computerisation was introduced by Rajiv Gandhi, their (BJP) most senior leaders opposed computers saying India will be destroyed, people will lose jobs because of computers. And now look, how computerisation has changed India. And 10 years later, the same BJP leaders claimed it was they who brought computers and cellphones to India.

4:40 pm: Rahul: We did not impose Green Revolution from above. Our leaders went to the farmers, heard their problems, and then brought about revolution. Similarly, bank nationalisation was done.

4: 38 pm:
Rahul : We are not against economic development, we want the fruits of development should reach all sections of society.

4:35 pm:
Rahul: If you want to take India forward, you have to take the poorer sections with you. They (BJP) speak of India shining, they speak of the rich, not the poor. They oppose when we implement MNREGA for the poor

4:30 pm: Rahul Gandhi says, Congress "soch" (thinking) is the thinking of Shivaji Maharaj, from Geeta, from Gandhiji, which means taking all sections of society along.
