JD(U) leaders resent LS poll tickets to party-hoppers

Patna: Hours before a crucial meeting between JD(U) president Sharad Yadav and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for shortlisting candidates for Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, some party leaders met the former and protested against allotment

Patel said there were many deserving candidates in the party ranks and all that was needed was “an eye for it”.

“They (new entrants into the party) are welcome in JD(U), but rewarding them instantly with tickets is not a good trend,” Narendra Singh said.

Yesterday, RJD stalwart Shakuni Chaudhary joined JD(U) and is expected to be nominated from Khagaria.

Likewise, rebel RJD MLA Raghvendra Pratap Singh is tipped to get the ticket from Ara while Anwarul Haque may be the contestant from Kishanganj.

The CM has already said that the names of candidates would be declared before Holi, either in phases or at one go.
