New Delhi: Former Army Chief retired Gen V K Singh today joined BJP in the presence of party president Rajnath Singh. Wearing a regimental cap, with a tilak on his forehead, retd Gen Singh was

"Whenever I see news reports  of air and navy mishaps on TV, I feel ashamed. I was ashamed on reading that INS Sindhuratna had batteries whose life had ended. It is clear that there are gaping holes in our security.

"Indian security system should be so airtight, that no foreign forces can put holes in our system. Our officers like Gen Singh, Air Vice Marshal Bordoloi, had been asking the government time and again for modernisation of our armed forces, but no attention was paid.

"And soldiers of Pakistan army enter our borders, behead our soldiers and return. Our disciplined forces must be given full hand to deal with such murderous attackers.

"On one hand Chinese forces violate our LAC, and yet our Prime Minister goes and signs agreement to end ceasefire violations forcing our security forces not to react if Chinese forces violate the line.

"I am confident the new BJP government led by Narendrabhai will deal with such situations strongly.
