New Delhi, Sep 1: Opposition BJP MLAs were today suspended from Delhi Assembly for three days as they continued to disrupt proceedings for the third day demanding a discussion on CAG report relating to alleged irregularities in certain CWG projects implemented by Delhi government.

All BJP MLAs, including Leader of Opposition V K Malhotra, were marshalled out after the House met for the second time during the day following a 30-minute adjournement forced by vociferous opposition lawmakers who also blew conch as a mark of protest.

As soon as the House assembled, Malhotra demanded a discussion on either CAG report and questioned why Dikshit was allowed to make a suo motu statement on allegations of corruption on Tuesday when BJP MLAs were marshalled out for seeking to discuss the findings of the auditor.

The senior BJP leader also countered Dikshit's remarks on Tuesday that he, as Vice-Chairman of CWG Organising Committee, was "as responsible as Suresh Kalmadi" for the irregularities and said no probe committee has taken his name for any irregularities.

"I was not involved in any decision making while CM was part of the GoM that monitored the progress of Games related projects. Even Sandip Dikshit was member of some committees," he told the House.

When the Speaker did not seem to pay heed to the demands of Malhotra, all BJP MLAs trooped to the well of the House and shouted slogans against the Congress government following which the proceedings were adjourned for half an hour.

The situation did not change when the House met again after the adjournment as unrelenting BJP MLAs again stormed into the well of the House and blew conch to demand a discussion on the CAG report.

As the din continued, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely proposed removal of the opposition MLAs from the House which was accepted by the Speaker following which they were marshalled out.

"They have been suspended for three days," the Speaker said. The Monsoon session of the Assembly will come to an end on Monday. The BJP MLAs were removed from the House on Tuesday as well after they created ruckus on the same demand.

Later, Lovely slammed the the BJP MLAs for their "behaviour" and said the House should pass a resolution "condemning their ruckus."

"We must respect the glorious tradition of this House. We cannot blow conch, shout slogans and throw pamphlets. The attitude of the BJP MLAs is against democractic norms," Lovely said.

As several Congress MLAs told Shastri that BJP MLA Pradyumn Rajput was taking photograph of the BJP's protest with his mobile phone inside the House, he asked the treasury bench to bring privilege motion against the legislator.

The BJP has moved a privilege motion against Dikshit alleging that it was not right on her part to make a statement in the House when the Speaker rejected their demand for a discussion on corruption.

Two Congress MLAs also moved a privilege motion against Malhotra for leading the ruckus in the House saying that as far as Assembly rules were concrened, no MLA can shout slogans and bring banners and posters into the House.

After eviction of BJP MLAs, several Congress MLAs came down hard on the government for increasing water charges. PTI
