Yoga will benefit poor Muslims, can't commit anything on support to Narendra Modi in 2019: Swami Ramdev

New Delhi: Swami Ramdev is ecstatic over United Nations declaring June 21 as ‘International Yoga Day'. In an exclusive interview to indiatvnews.com, Swami Ramdev brushed aside the opposition to yoga from a section of Muslim community

Q: You had raised the issue of Black Money vociferously. You had also supported Narendra Modi on this issue. Are you happy with the steps taken by Modi government on the issue of Black Money?

Swami Ramdev: A lot of work has been done in that direction. But the problem is that the black money has not arrived as yet. People want results.

Q: What about Amit Shah's statement in which he had termed the pre-poll promises on black money as mere jumala?

Swami Ramdev: I'll just say that people want results. They just don't care what mechanisms we are adopting, what rules we are framing. They say black money should come back and invested in development of the country.

Q: Your relationship with Narendra Modi has been a matter of curiosity. Can you throw some light on it for the benefit of our audience?

Swami Ramdev: My relationship with Modi ji is based on yoga, spirituality and nationalism.  It's not a blood relationship.  There is no hidden secret behind this relationship. This is an open secret. I want to make this country magnificent. Modi ji also wants the same. WE both want India to become economin and spiritual superpower. We are helping each other in this endeavor through yoga.  This is not for any other benefit.

Q: Your disciples are spread across India and you must be getting feedbacks from them. Ground reports suggest that in terms of change, nothing much is visible on the grass root level. The government has completed one year. How would you rate the government on a scale of 1 to 10.

Swami Ramdev: I will not take mathematics route because my maths is weak especially the way you are asking this question.

But yes, Modi ji has brought to an end the policy paralysis that existed in this country. He is running the government in a constitutional way. Earlier, one person was PM but decisions were being taken by some other person. You did not see any scam in last one year. India's prestige has gone up in the world. Many new schemes have been launched in last one year and results will become visible very soon.

Q: If you are happy with the performance of this government, then would you also support Narendra Modi in 2019 elections the same way you did in 2014?

Swami Ramdev: You have jumped over to future that is 4 years away. Let's live in present.

Q: So you  will not commit anything about 2019?

Swami Ramdev laughs but refuses to say anything.
