New Delhi:  Congress president Sonia Gandhi today admitted that pricerise could be one of the main causes for the party's debacle in Delhi and Rajasthan.

Speaking to reporters, with son Rahul Gandhi standing by her side, Sonia Gandhi said, "I know people were unhappy otherwise they would not have defeated us.

Pricerise was one of the reasons. In Rajasthan, the Chief Minister had run very very good programmes. Even in Delhi, a great amount of development took place.

Obviously, the results tell us something different. We will try to rectify our state of functioning".

Asked about Lok Sabha elections, Sonia Gandhi said, the general elections are quite different from the state elections.  For national elections, we will announce him as our prime ministerial candidate at the opportune moment".
