Arvind Kejriwal threatens to jail media if AAP comes to power, later retracts

Nagpur: Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday night lashed out at the media saying, large sections of the media was indulging in "paid" publicity in favour of BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi.

On Friday morning, when TV reporters accosted Kejriwal, he first refused to reveal what he had said, but later quipped: "How can I speak against you (media)?"

Kejriwal's threatening remarks evoked widespread condemnation across the political spectrum.

Law Minister Kapil Sibal said, so long as the media was projecting Kejriwal in a favourite light, it was Kejriwal's favourite, but now that the media has started questioning him, it is getting Kejriwal's ire.

This was the same party which had promised to reform the Congress, and now they are threatening the media".

BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said, "There is hardly any chance of Kejriwal coming to power, but he appears to be desperate to send people to jail.
