The Telangana government on Wednesday notified that Nalgonda and Alampur assembly seats have fallen vacant following the expulsion of Congress MLAs Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and SA Sampath Kumar from the state assembly.

On Tuesday, two Congress MLAs were expelled while 11 others were suspended from the ongoing Budget session for protesting during the Governor's address to the joint sitting of Legislature on Monday.

The Telangana Assembly witnessed an ugly brawl on the day of the Budget session on Monday as the opposition leaders started throwing papers and microphones in the air during the speech of Governor ESL Narasimhan. One of the microphones hit Legislative Council Chairman K Swamy Goud near the eyes and he suffered injuries.

Goud said he was hit by the object thrown at the podium during the playing of national anthem after the address that was marred by sloganeering Congress members who accused the TRS government of being "anti-farmer".

Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao moved separate resolutions for the disciplinary action. The suspended members included Leader of the Opposition K Jana Reddy.
