With newly-sown-in Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palamisamy scheduled to seek a vote of confidence in the state Assembly tomorrow at 11am, DMK's working president MK Stalin today offered him a ‘strange advice’.

Stalin told Palanisamy not to ‘smile’ at him in the Assembly tomorrow when the confidence motion against his government is introduced.

The advice came just a few days after jailed AIADMK supreme VK Sasikala had noted that ousted CM O Panneerselvam had smiled at Stalin -- and cited that as one of the reasons for asking him to step down.

Reacting to that, Panneerselvam had said smiling at another human being is one of the qualities that differentiates humans from animals.

Stalin, who has termed the Palaniswami government as "anti-people", was accused by Sasikala of conspiring with Paneerselvam to sideline her in the party.

A Sasikala loyalist, Palanisamy was sworn in as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on Thursday, along with 31 cabinet ministers, ending the political crisis sparked by the death of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa in December.
