Australia's memorable 1000th ODI culminates with a historic win

    Australia registered their biggest-ever ODI win (in terms of balls remaining) against West Indies in the third ODI of the three-match series. They chased the 87-run target in 6.5 overs to clinch the series 3-0.

    The Aussies were quite dominant. They first rattled the Windies for just 86 well led by Xavier Bartlett before Jake Fraser-McGurk's hitting took them to the target within 41 balls

    The Aussies won with 259 balls left. They improved their previous record of a win in 7.5 overs (253 balls remaining). That record was registered in 2004 when the Aussies defeated the USA.

    This is also the biggest ODI win ever achieved on Australian soil. The previous best came in 2013 when Australia defeated the same opponents Windies in 9.2 overs.

    Australia registered their 19th ODI series whitewash and leapfrogged the Windies in most ODI whitewashes. But they are still four behind Pakistan.
