Young apes regulate emotions like humans
Washington : A new research published in the current issue of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has proved that apes share striking similarities in emotional development with humans. The research report has stated that
They were also observed comforting apes in distress by kissing, embracing or touching. This makes the species an ideal candidate for psychological comparisons.
They suggest their research shows that the socio-emotional framework commonly applied to children works equally well for apes, which they say means emotional tests designed for humans may also be useful when studying the emotional character of apes.
