Thousands protest in Dhaka, demand death to Butcher of Mirpur

Dhakha, Feb 24: Thousands of people  staged protests in Bangladesh on Saturday demanding death to Jamaat-e-Islami leader Abdul Qader Mollah, notorious war criminal known as "Butcher of Mirpur". The protesters also demanded ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and

 
The Shahbagh movement began on February 5, hours after Jamaat assistant secretary general Abdul Quader Mollah was sentenced to life in prison for rape, killing and genocide during Bangladesh freedom struggle in 1971.
 
Protesters say a life term was  too lenient a punishment for Mollah, known as the "Butcher of Mirpur" for his notorious role in the killing of hundreds during the war at the behest of his Pakistani benefactors.
