Meet the London man who stopped using cash after watching the film Gandhi

New Delhi: Mark Boyle, a resident of Bath, south west London is an Irish activist  who can be called a true Gandhian. An economics graduate, he made his mark (pun unintended)  in the field of




He lives in a caravan, uses toothpaste made from washed up cuttlefish bones.

He uses a solar laptop and uses compost loo.

He grows his own food.

To promote his idea of living, he found the online free economy community in October, 2012.

Its an online blog where people share their experiences and come up with new ideas of moving away from exchange economies towards a pay it forward philosophy.

Boyle is currently working with others to set up the UK's first land-based Freeconomic community.
