Know the invisible Biringan City in Philippines

New Delhi: Biringan City is a famous city, known to many people in Philippines, yet it is nowhere to be found for interested visitors.According to legend, the city is located in Samar, Philippines, somewhere between the towns of Gandara, Tarangnan, and Pagsanhan.Its appearance had been limited to a small number of people. It could be superstition or some unexplained phenomenon unsubstantiated by science.On moonless nights, seafarers have reported seeing a dazzling city of light. In a few minutes, though, the manifestation was no longer visible.Biringan is not likely to be shown on any map or atlas. But specialized satellite mapping photography have reportedly turned up a shining area in the reported general location of Biringan.According to locals, Biringan is the legendary home of the encantos (enchanted ones) and half-encanto (half enchanted ones), half-human progeny.Those who claim to see the city they say that the city it is extremely beautiful, consisting of high-rise buildings, cathedrals, elegant structures, magnificent edifices and is comparable to cities like New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.A fishermen who saw it spread the word that from the wide seas they were fishing, they caught sight of this magnificent city, glowing in the dark, brilliant with multi-colored lights, and equipped with sophisticated facilities, obviously enjoying highly-advanced technology that may not be possessed by the most advanced cities in the world. There are so many supernatural things about this city, which are hard to believe. There are stories around that majority of people testifying to have been to the city right have been the victims of demon possessions. While their bodies are indwelt and controlled by evil spirits, their soul and spirit is being brought by demons into this city, making it appear that this place is a city of demons. To this day, Biringan remains a mysterious part of Philippine folklore. In addition, everyday stories of encounters with Biringan's residents continue to be told. If these had simply been figments of the imagination, these stories would have died down a long time ago, still, fresh stories continue to crop up.The encantos (enchanted ones) are most likely elementals, apparently shapechangers because they have been reported to appear in whatever form they wish, human or not.But in human form, their distinguishing characteristic is the lack of the philtrum, the indentation below the nose and above the upper lip. There's one story of a bus plying the night route from Catbalogan City to Tacloban City. On the way, the driver and conductor picked up two women passengers. When the two ladies alighted, the driver turned the bus around to get back on the highway. But, amazingly, he did not find the dirt road that he had taken just moments ago. Conceding that they were lost, they decided to spend the night at that very spot. At dawn the next day, they found themselves and the bus at a desolate mountain top. A large tow truck had to be sent through rough mountain trails to bring the bus back. There is another similar story of a bus whose driver stopped to pass the night at some sort of a depot. When he and his passengers woke up the next morning they were in the middle of a clump or bamboos with no roads anywhere.
