Dehradun, Jun 28: Light rains in different hilly parts of Uttarakhand again hampered rescue work on Friday, while the Met department predicted heavy rains in Dehradun, Rishikesh and Srinagar (Pauri Garhwal).



Over 2,500 people are still stranded in Badrinath, cut off by road. Most of them include local vendors and labourers of Nepali origin.

NDRF personnel will try to rescue these stranded people today.

So far, 1,26,000 people have been evacuated to safer places, NDRF sources said.
