Unnao gold hunt: GSI radar survey indicates metal underneath fort

New Delhi: The Geological Survey of India (GSI) on October 3 and 4 conducted a preliminary investigation in Daundia Kheda village in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh and found traces of metal under the soil.

The GSI claims that the decision to excavate was taken after these findings of the 12-member team and not according to dreams of a Sadhu.

The gold is said to be hidden under the fort of Raja Rao Ram Bux Singh.

The entire episode began after sadhu Shobhan Sarkar wrote to the prime minister narrating the king had come in his dreams and asked him to get the treasure dug up and hand it over to the government of India to tide the economic crisis.

His devotee, Congress leader Bhakt Charan Das, then urged the ASI to take up the issue.
