Unlock 3: Independence Day celebration to be allowed with social distancing norms

The holding of Independence Day 2020 celebrations are allowed to be conducted by the Union Ministry, with social distancing norms and health protocol.

The government on Wednesday declared guidelines for Unlock 3. The holding of Independence Day 2020 celebrations are allowed to be conducted by the Union Ministry, with social distancing norms and health protocol. Maintaining social distancing and wearing masks is mandatory for the attendees. The containing guidelines for Unlock 3 phase that will come into effect from August 1.

In this regard instructions issued by MHA on July 21 shall be followed. The Union home ministry had earlier sent out a detailed guideline for Independence Day celebrations to chief secretaries of all states and UTs outlining the precautions to be observed on the occasion.

The letter pointed out that the marquee ceremony at the Red Fort will take place but with a curtailed programme.
