Mathura, May 29: Two of the seven persons who had shot at and stabbed a woman advocate here were arrested from different parts of the area today, police said.
“Of the seven assailants, two have been nabbed. While Gopesh was arrested from Antapara in Kotwali area from his father-in-law's house, Harish was nabbed from Raya town where he was hiding at his neighbour's residence,” SP (City) Ram Kishor said.
“The other culprits will most probably be nabbed shortly,” he said.
Advocate Asha Rani Sharma was yesterday stabbed and shot at allegedly by seven persons inside court premises in Sadar Bazar area here.
42-year-old Sharma was attacked when she had gone to collect some files in the chamber of another advocate in the collectorate compound yesterday afternoon, police said.
The culprits first attacked her with knives and then shot at her, they said, adding that she did not receive any bullet injury but received stab wounds.
She was rushed to a nearby private hospital and then to Metro Hospital, Faridabad.
The victim's son Pawan had lodged a complaint against seven persons. Three police teams were formed to nab the culprits.
“The cause of the attack appears to be a dispute related to a temple,” the SP had said yesterday.
Meanwhile, Sharma's condition was stated by doctors at Metro Hospital, Faridabad, to be stable.
“The condition of injured Asha Rani Sharma is stationery,” Dr Brij Gopal Sharma stated this evening. PTI
