Tibetans hold candlelight vigil, demand whereabouts of Panchen Lama

Shimla,  May 18: Tibetans-in-exile held a candlelight protest against Chinese authorities on Friday in Shimla. The protesters demanded  the whereabouts and immediate release of the 11th Panchen Lama, who is missing. The organizers believe that

Shimla,  May 18: Tibetans-in-exile held a candlelight protest against Chinese authorities on Friday in Shimla.



The protesters demanded  the whereabouts and immediate release of the 11th Panchen Lama, who is missing.

The organizers believe that nearly 18 years ago on May 17, the Chinese authorities arrested the little boy monk and he is missing since then. These protesters are also seeking international support to put pressure on China.
 
Gendhun Chockyi Nyima (11th Panchen Lama) at the age of six on May 14, 1995 was recognized the reincarnation of 10th Panchen Lama by Tibetan spiritual head the 14th Dalai Lama.

Denouncing the recognition of Panchen Lama in 1995 Chinese already installed the other Panchan Lama Gyatsen Norbu.

Gendhun Chockyi Nyima, was born in Lhari village in Nagchu region of Tibetan Autonomous Region (TAR) on April 25, 1989.
