Itanagar: The Arunachal Pradesh unit of BJP has asked for active intervention of its central leadership to bring an acceptable solution to the stapled visa issue to Arunachalees by China.

Addressing the party's three days national conclave which ended at New Delhi yesterday, party's Arunachal Pradesh unit president Tai Tagak criticized what he described as “the lackadaisical attitude” of the UPA government in solving the visa issue saying that it “lacks sensitivity” for the young sports talents, civil servants and others in the recent years and is “discriminating” to the people of Arunachal Pradesh.

He said if BJP-led NDA comes to power in the state, it should attend and address the issue and initiate pro-active measures, a statement issued by the party said today.

Tagak's suggestions on the stapled visa also got reflected in the party's political resolution adopted yesterday.

A total of 107 members from Arunachal Pradesh headed by Tagak besides three MLAs and two former MPs - Tapir Gao and Kiren Rijiju attended the meeting, the release said.
