New Delhi/Mumbai, Jul 20: Heavy rains in both the metros Delhi and Mumbai this morning disrupted normal life and caused waterlogging in many localities.



It has been raining since last evening in Mumbai delaying suburban train services both on the Western Railway and Central Railway.

Till 8:30 am on Saturday, Santacruz in Mumbai recorded 78.09 mm and Colaba recorded 71.04 mm rainfall.
Met department said, rains will continue for the next 48 hours.
With sky overcast, authorities warned of a 4.7 metre high tide in the sea.  Fishermen have been asked not to venture out into the sea.
Lowlying areas like Dadar, Hindmata and Parel were waterlogged due to heavy rainfall.

Rains in the entire National Capital Region slowed down the pace of life since early this morning, with Haryana government releasing 1.35 lakh cusecs from Hathnikund barrage into the Yamuna, raising the spectre of another flood in Delhi's riverbank areas.

Heavy rains lashed Juhu, Santacruz, Khar, Bandra, Andheri, Malad, Jogeshwari, Borivali, Dahisar, Vikhroli, Chembur, Ghatkopar, Sion, and Vadala.

Reports of traffic snarls have been received from Juhu-Santacruz link road,  SV Road between Andheri and Malad, and LBS Road between Ghatkopar and Kurla.

In Ghaziabad, a three-kilometre long traffic jam was noticed on National Highway due to waterlogging at several points.

Heavy rains occured in Gurgaon, Noida, Greater Noida, and across the national capital, with lowlying areas waterlogged, and traffic slowing down to a snail's pace.
