China blocks India's move at UN demanding action against Pakistan on Lakhvi

China has blocked India's move at the UN demanding action against Pakistan over release of Mumbai attack mastermind and LeT commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi in violation of a resolution of the world body as it contended that India provided insufficient information.

As the UN Sanctions Committee met here at India's request, a clarification was to be sought from Pakistan over Lakhvi's release in the 26/11 trial but the Chinese representatives blocked the move on grounds that India did not provide sufficient information, official sources said.

Blackmoney SIT reviews IPL, Modi cases; seeks more updates

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on black money today sought update from multiple probe agencies on the role of Lalit Modi in alleged financial irregularities in the T-20 cricket tournament.  

Besides Modi, former IPL Chairman, the SIT also reviewed cases of BCCI officials and other individuals involved in the operation of the various editions of the IPL.

Karnataka government on Tuesday challenged in the Supreme Court the acquittal of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa by the state High Court in disproportionate assets case.

Earlier, the Karnataka Cabinet had accepted the advice of state special public prosecutor (SPP) BV Acharya and state Advocate General Ravivarma Kumar to appeal against the HC verdict acquitting Jayalalithaa.

CBSE to re-conduct AIPMT exam on July 25

The CBSE on Tuesday announced that it would re-conduct the All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) for medical and dental courses on July 25.

Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) "decided to re-conduct the All India Pre-Medical/Pre-Dental Test - 2015 on July 25" following Supreme Court orders on June 15 and June 19, the board said in a statement.
