Maharashtra toll : Raj Thackeray dares govt to arrest him, rasta roko on Feb 12

Pune: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena supremo Raj Thackeray today virtually launched his Lok Sabha poll campaign by announcing statewide rasta roko on February 12 over toll collection issue. Addressing a huge rally at SP College grounds

"We then went to court, but we got taarikh pe taarikh. I am not against toll but I want to know where the collected toll revenue goes. Why should we contribution to anybody's election fund in the form of toll", asked Thackeray.

"Supriya Sule (Sharad Pawar's daughter) has said, instead of breaking ST buses, why don't protesters break ministers' cars. Now tell me what should I do? Anyway, it is not difficult to us to do that too".

Thackeray said, there are already 12 types of road taxes, and toll is the 13th tax that common man has to pay.

He cites the figures of two toll nakas, Anewadi and Khed-Shivapur, where VIPs' vehicles pass toll nakas without paying any toll. "This government is cheating you on toll", said Thackeray.

The MNS leader said, his workers will continue to smash toll booths. "I will release all info on toll collections on MNS App to be released next week".

Thackeray said, red beacons for ministers and amber coloured beacons for police vehicles are being sold openly in Maharashtra.

"I myself have got 100  such beacons. Police take off black film from car windows, but why catch the passengers? Why don't they catch the people who sell this?"
