“For unauthorised colonies and rural areas which do not have transportation facilities, 20 mobile dispensaries will be provided to bring services closer for them,” he said.
During health camps, screenings will be done for different kinds of cancers, anaemia and malnutrition, among others.
“A recent report by the Centre states that in more than 50 per cent of the cases involving women patients, diseases had been diagnosed late, (which is why) we introduced this scheme. We have also tied up with private labs for the tests,” said NDMC Public Relations Officer, Yogendra Singh Mann.
NDMC Mayor Azad Singh, meanwhile, announced other schemes which the civic body has lined up in its working calendar.
“Another medical college would be opened at Rajan Babu Institute of Pulmonary Medicine and Tuberculosis (RBIPMT) where 79 acres of land is available with NDMC,” Singh said.
“Forty-eight points have been identified where public conveniences for women will be developed. An amount of Rs 2,100 will be extended to one per cent of the safai karamcharis as performance-based reward,” the Mayor said.
