Know about Malani tribe in HP, who claim to be descendants of Alexander the Great

New Delhi: A small remote village in Himachal Pradesh, situated to the northeast  of Kullu Valley, Malana, is a scintillating world where the Malana tribe lives. The grand mountains of Chandrakhani surround the town.Malanis believe

Before they enter their house or before they eat , people of this village may touch impure people or houses as long as they follow the prescribed purification ritual.

People of this village never accept food cooked by a non-Malani person, unless they are out of the valley.

All utensils will have to undergo a strict purification ritual and only after that they may offer food to visitors.

The Malanis have distinct physical features and a dialect which is different from the rest of the valley. However, their physical uniqueness cannot be proven.

The Kalash tribe of Pakistan also have similar physical attributes, therefore this myth is disputed because people say in Pakistan that is actually the area in which Alexander the Great's soldiers took refuge.

According to authentic sources, the legend of the Greek origin comes from the Malanese people having a lower-house and upper-house system.

This system was observed by someone who co-related this system with the system of governance followed in Greece, and hence formed the legend.
