New Delhi, Feb 23: You can buy a child for Rs.25,000 in Delhi. Shocking but true! India TV sting operation shows how infants are sold in a reputed hospital in Rohini area of Delhi.

An India TV sting operation has exposed a racket being run from a reputed hospital, Chopra Eye and Maternity Centre, in Rohini. India TV correspondent went undercover and first approached the clinic on February 21.



This correspondent posed as a buyer and met one middle-woman Anju who confirmed that she could arrange a baby.

When asked about any charges required for the process, Anju replied that nothing here was for free.

India TV correspondent again visited the clinic on Feb 22, this time with a female member of an NGO ‘Bachpan Bacao Aandolan' posing as buyers.



During the conversation, Anju reveled that female infants are easily available from poor parents who are incapable to support them but boys were more costly.

Anju also made a startling revelation that those unmarried girls who came for abortions were persuaded to leave their babies at the nursing home after give birth and these babies were sold for anything between Rs. 25000 to Rs 1 lakh depending on gender.
