IAF's latest acquisition Super Hercules crashes near Gwalior, 5 top airmen killed

New Delhi/Jaipur: The latest acquisition of Indian Air Force US-made C-130J Super Hercules transport aircraft crashed near Gwalior after taking off from Agra air base, killing five airmen, including two Wing Commanders, two Squadron Leaders

Names of five airmen killed: Wing Commander Prashant Joshi, Wing Commander Rajji Nair, Squadron Leader K Mishra, Squadron  Leader A Yadav (Navigator) and WO K P Singh (flight engineer).

Wing Commander Prashant Joshi was going to take charge as a Commanding Officer in the next ten days.

His wife Anita was also a pilot in IAF, and she had taken retirement and joined Kingfisher Airlines.

She lived with Prashant Joshi at Hindon airbase, but had gone to her in-laws house in Pune due to pregnancy in the last two months.

Wing Commander Rajji Nair also lives in Hindon air base with his wife and a son.
