Delhi gang-rape case: In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was allegedly gang-raped by 2 Railway employees at the New Delhi Railway Station, while two others facilitated the act by guarding the door of the room she was raped in. The incident took place on Thursday night (July 21), and all four accused have been arrested, informed DCP Railway Harendra Singh.
The accused worked in the Electrical Department, and the alleged gang rape took place inside the electrical maintenance staff hut at the Delhi railway station.
A call regarding the incident was received at around 2:27 am on Friday, but when the staff checked for the caller, they couldn't find her. Upon contacting her, she informed me that she was standing on platforms number 8-9 of the New Delhi Railway station.
The woman has been separated from her husband for the past year and is engaged in a court case for divorce. She came in contact with guy two years back who is a railway employee and promised her a job too. They continued talking on the phone, and on July 21, she was called by him to a small party at his home on account of his birthday.
She got off the Kirti Nagar metro station at around 10:30 pm, from where she was picked up by the accused and was brought to platforms 8-9 of the New Delhi railway station. She was then asked to sit in a hut meant for the electrical department staff.
After this, he and his friend came inside the room, bolted it from inside, and sexually assaulted her one after another. Two of his accomplices facilitated the assault by guarding the room against outside.
