Death toll in Andamans boat capsize goes up to 23, magisterial enquiry ordered

Port Blair: An overcrowded tourist boat Aqua Marine capsized with 43 tourists between Ross Island and North Bay in ‎Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Sunday afternoon. Twenty-one people have been declared dead while 23 passengers were

While some of the passengers hailed from Kanchipuram, some people came from Mumbai and Thane. The deceased included BJP leader Chandu Bhisekar and his wife.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has expressed shock over the incident.

Lt. Governor has ordered magisterial probe into the incident and announced Rs. 1 lakh ex-gratia to the deceased.
