Jammu: One BSF jawan was killed and seven security personnel were injured in firing by Pakistan Rangers in the RS Pura sector of the Jammu region overnight.





Official sources said, BSF jawans retaliated by firing at Pakistani posts.

Pakistani troops continuously fired at Indian post Pindi in RS Pura sector, while firing continued at Kana Chakki, Sona, Peetal posts in Ramgarh sector of Samba.

Panic prevailed as local residents hid in safer places as firing continued throughout the night.

BSF officers said Pakistani Rangers opened fire with automatic weapons and attacked over 5O border posts (BOPs) along IB in Jammu frontier belt with mortar shells since last night.

Pakistani rangers also rained mortars in forward villages of Arnia, R S Pura and Akhnoor sectors from 7.40 PM last night.
