    Aaditya Thackeray inaugurates refurbished 500-year-old temple

    Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray on Monday inaugurated the refurbished five-century-old Thakur Shyama Shyam temple. Thackeray paid his obeisance to deities of over 500-year-old Shyama Shyam temple during the inaugural program of the renovated temple, Mukesh Swami, the priest of renovated Shyama Shyam temple said. He said, the temple was constructed by Cheet Swami, one of the eight noted disciple saint of Mahaprabhu Ballabhacharya over 500 years ago.

    19-year-old nabbed from Mumbai for killing woman in Delhi

    A day after a woman's body was found stuffed in a plastic bag in east Delhi's Vishwas Nagar area, a 19-year-old youth has been arrested from Mumbai for her alleged murder, police said on Monday. The accused, Sultan, and the 23-year-old victim, Shama, were planning to get married, they added.

    Lakhs of devotees take dip in Ganga in Haridwar on Kartik Purnima

    Devotees from all over the country took a dip in the Ganga here on Monday on the occasion of Kartik Purnima. It is said bathing in the Ganga on this day brings divine blessings, health, happiness and prosperity, astrologer Prateek Mishrapuri said. "Taking a bath in the Ganga at Har Ki Pairi on Kartik Purnima is considered as sacred as bathing in the holy river during Kumbh," he said. About 18 lakh devotees from all over the country took a bath in the holy river at Har ki Pairi and other ghats, the district administration said.

    Rain spurt brings down temperature in Delhi-NCR, flights diverted amid bad weather

    Delhi and neighbouring regions received a sudden burst of rainfall which further brought down the temperature on Monday. This comes after the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted light to moderate rainfall in Delhi and Haryana.     Six teenagers go on trial Monday in Paris for their alleged roles in the beheading of a teacher who showed caricatures of the prophet of Islam to his class, a killing that led authorities to reaffirm France's cherished rights of expression and secularism. Samuel Paty, a history and geography teacher, was killed on Oct 16, 2020, near his school in a northwest Paris suburb by an 18-year-old of Chechen origin who had become radicalised.     A 46-year-old man was killed allegedly after being hit by a truck laden with LPG cylinders in Jharkhand's Godda, police said.
