    INX Media case: Delhi court allows ED to quiz Chidambaram in Tihar on Nov 22, 23

    A Delhi court on Thursday allowed the Enforcement Directorate to interrogate former finance minister P Chidambaram in Tihar jail on November 22 and 23 in connection with the INX Media case.

    Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar passed the order on a plea filed by the agency. The Enforcement Directorate (ED), in its plea, had sought permission to quiz Chidambaram from 10 am to 1 pm and 2:30 pm to 4 pm on both days, saying that some documents have to be shown to him.

    Air quality 'severe' in many parts of Delhi-NCR

    Air quality in many parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region turned severe on Thursday due to calm winds and high humidity, officials said. The situation is likely to worsen in the next 24 hours, while some relief is expected on Saturday.

    The overall air quality index (AQI) in the national capital was 361 at 1:30 pm on Thursday. The AQI for Rohini (410), Anand Vihar (413), Nehru Nagar (403) and Bawana (404) entered the "severe" zone.

    A 10-year-old girl died after being bit by a snake inside her classroom at Sultan Bathery in Wayanad district, police said on Thursday. The fifth standard student, Shehala, was taken to the hospital only an hour after the incident, students of the government vocational higher secondary school alleged.

    Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress alliance in Maharashtra plans to give state's share of bullet train cost to farmers

    The Shiv Sena-NCP-Congress are working to form a government in Maharashtra and are planning to give money meant for investment in a bullet train project to farmers, a report with India Today said. 

    The report added that Maharashtra's share in the cost of building the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail line --25 per cent - will be given to farmers. The project's estimated cost is Rs 1.08 lakh crore; it is being built with help from Japan and is expected to be completed by 2023.

    2 held for cloning ATM cards at spa centre in Dwarka

    Two men running a spa centre have been arrested for their involvement in cloning ATM cards in Dwarka on, police said on Wednesday. The police nabbed Rajesh Sharma (52) and Shamsher (22) at Sector 20 marble market in Dwarka on Monday.

    A trap was laid after police received information that the fraudsters would come at the location around 10 pm, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse said.
