Union minister Nitin Gadkari on Friday said the Centre has designed policies to generate five crore jobs in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector over the next five years.
"At a time when cities are growing at a rapid pace, we need to go for decentralisation of development with a focus on agriculture, tribal and rural development sectors. "We need technology and innovation for sustainable development of agriculture, rural and tribal development
sectors," Nitin Gadkari was quoted by PTI."The Union government has designed policies to generate five crore jobs in the MSME sector in the next five years," he said.

A truck driver and his helper were killed when their rice-laden truck caught fire after ramming into a stationary vehicle in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly district, police said on Friday.

CBI sets up specialised unit to tackle child porn
The Central Bureau of Investigation has a set up an online Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (OCSAE) Prevention/Investigation Unit at its headquarter to counter the growing menace of child porn on the Internet, officials said on Friday.
The new "specialised unit" under the special crime investigation wing of the agency will collect intelligence not only on those who are allegedly creating and transmitting such material on the Internet but also those who are browsing and downloading such material, they said.

The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed the Enforcement Directorate's plea challenging the Delhi High Court order granting bail to Karnataka Congress leader D K Shivakumar in a money laundering case.
A bench comprising Justices R F Nariman and S Ravindra Bhat rejected the request of the Solicitor General, appearing for the Enforcement Directorate (ED), to issue a notice to the other side on the appeal. The Delhi High Court had on October 23 granted bail to Shivakumar.

Delhi air quality 'severe' for 4th consecutive day
A thick layer of toxic smog engulfed Delhi as the pollution level continued to remain in the 'severe' category for the fourth consecutive day on Friday.
The high pollution can be attributed to low wind speed, which has led to stagnation of pollutants in the air and slowed down the dispersion process, authorities said.
The air quality index (AQI) in Delhi was in a severe category at 467 at 10 am. All the monitoring stations recorded severe air quality, according to the Central Pollution Control Board.

6-month-old sleeping in Shimla parking lot crushed to death by car
A six-month-old boy was crushed to death by a car at a parking lot in Himachal Pradesh's Shimla on Thursday. Silbiniya, a labourer from Jharkhand, laid her sleeping son at a corner of the PWD parking lot in Nigam Vihar locality, while she was working nearby, police said.
Unaware that the child was sleeping there, the driver of the car accidentally ran over him, police said. The driver, Rajesh, rushed him to the IGMC hospital, where doctors declared the child brought dead.
