ISI, Indian Mujahideen planning 'sticky' bomb blasts in India

New Delhi: Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence or ISI has roped in Indian Mujahideen to create mayhem during Republic Day by using magnetic explosive device for spectacular strikes. The revelations were made by the Intelligence Bureau who said

Two IM operatives Tehseen Akhtar, alias Monu, and Waqas were preparing magnetic IEDs when their hideout in Mangalore, Karnataka was raided after Bhatkal's arrest.

More than 50 magnets were found at the hideout and when Yasin was asked about the magnets, he revealed the whole plan.

Monu and Waqas are on the run. Security agencies last spotted Monu in Pushkar, Rajasthan, working as a tourist guide.

Sticky bombs are sophisticated, hard to detect and more lethal than IEDs.

Used extensively to devastating effect in Afghanistan and in Iraq during the latter part of US occupation, sticky bombs are rare to India.

The only known instance is when an Israeli embassy car was badly damaged in the Capital on February 13, 2012 after a sticky bomb stuck on the rear of the vehicle went off, injuring four people.
