    Auto slowdown continues, sales plunge by 12 pc in November

    Domestic vehicle sales across all categories declined by 12.05 per cent in November to 17.92 lakh units compared to 20.38 lakh units in the year-ago period, data released by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) on Tuesday.

    Passenger car sales dipped by 10.83 per cent to 1.6 lakh from 1.79 lakh in November last year. However, utility vehicle sales gained by 32.7 per cent to 92,739 from 69,884 in the same period.

    Sensex drops 33.67 points to 40,453.76 in early trade

    Market benchmark BSE Sensex on Tuesday slipped over 33 points in early trade, due to losses in select private banks, IT and auto stocks amid fresh infusion of funds by foreign investors.
    The 30-share index was trading 33.67 points or 0.08 per cent lower at 40,453.76 in morning trade. The broader Nifty was trading 11.00 points or 0.09 per cent down at 11,926.50.
    Top losers in the Sensex pack in early trade included Yes Bank, TCS, Tech Mahindra, PowerGrid, Infosys, Axis Bank, ITC and IndusInd Bank, falling up to 2.22 per cent.
