    Retired Col Prithipal Singh Gill only officer to serve in IAF, Indian Navy, Army turns 100

    Col Prithipal Singh Gill (retd.), the only officer to serve in Indian Air Force, Indian Navy, and Indian Army (Artillery), turns 100. He served during World War-II and the 1965 India-Pakistan War. Gill started as a pilot in the Royal Indian Air Force, later sailed the high seas with Indian Navy, and finally saw action as a Gunner Officer with the Indian Army in the 1965 War, finally served as an Assam Rifles Sector Commander in Manipur.

    India no way responsible for this climate change: Prakash Javadekar

    Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said, "Climate change isn't an overnight phenomenon. It has taken the last 100 years. Historically the USA has 25% of all emissions, Europe has 22% whereas China has 13% and India, only 3%. We are in no way responsible for this climate change." 

    "But as a responsible participant in world affairs India chose to take part in combating climate change. Our emission intensity was to be reduced by 33-35% as per the Paris Climate Agreement. We achieved 21% of this and aim to achieve the remainder in 10 years," he added.
