    Tropical Storm Kevin gains force in eastern Pacific

    Tropical Storm Kevin was gaining force Sunday in the eastern Pacific and forecasters said it was likely to reach hurricane strength while remaining far off Mexico's coasts. The U.S. National Hurricane Center said the storm had maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (95 kph) Sunday while centered about 495 miles (795 kilometers) south of the southern tip of the Baja California Peninsula.

    It was heading westward at 8 mph (13 kph). Forecasters said it was likely to become a hurricane on Monday, but its only threat to land were expected to be storm-driven surf.

    Soldier found dead inside Rajouri camp

     A 24-year-old soldier was found dead Sunday under "mysterious circumstances" inside a camp in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, a defence spokesman said.

    PM to chair UNSC debate on maritime security

    Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a high-level open debate on "Enhancing Maritime Security – A Case for International Cooperation" on Monday via video conferencing.

    His office said on Sunday the meeting is expected to be attended by several heads of state and government of member states of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and high-level briefers from the UN system and key regional organisations.

    Passenger bus overturns in western Turkey, killing 14 people

     A passenger bus veered and tumbled off a highway in western Turkey, killing 14 people on Sunday. The governor's office of Balikesir province said 18 people injured in the crash were being treated in five hospitals.

    It said the bus overturned at 04:40 local time (0140 GMT). Emergency units arrived at the site, where 11 people died. Three others died in the hospital.

    Assam minister Atul Bora tests positive for COVID-19

    Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora was hospitalised on Sunday after testing positive for COVID-19.

    "I have tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms. I request all those who have come in contact with me to get themselves tested at the earliest," he tweeted.

    The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) president has been admitted to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital and his condition is stated to be stable, party sources said.
