Army Chief's US visit called off, as jawans battle Pak infilitrators in Keran on Day 15

New Delhi: The US visit of Army Chief Gen Bikram Singh has been called off in view of the shutdown in US government, even as army jawans are battling it out in the dense hilly




India TV reporter Manjeet Singh Negi visited Uri sector, where night-time search operations by the Army were going on.

Inspector General of BSF in Kashmir P S Sandhu told India TV that Pakistan had planned a massive intrusion of well-trained militants. 'We are getting regular inputs about hundreds of militants desperate to cross the LoC', he said.

The Army and BSF killed 30 militants in Uri sector in the last one month.  The jawans are equipped with night-vision devices, AK-47, Beretta and EX-95 rifles.

The intruders are getting active support from Pakistani troops in Pak Occupied Kashmir, and the militants are desperate to cross the LoC before snowfall in Kashmir valley, the BSF official said.
